Is it really already the last week in October? Is it me or do you keep asking yourself where this year has gone too? Time really does fly when you’re having fun!
For this weeks blog I’ve decided to give you a little sprinkle of some Monday Motivation because winter has well and truly arrived and I feel you need that little injection of positivity in your life, because lets be honest, who doesn’t?
This week I’d really like you to pick a focus, an intention, something that you can achieve by the end of the week. Or maybe it is a work in progress, something that you will achieve by the end of the year or in six months time, but whatever it is, find that focus and stick with it.
These intentions can be anything from personal development progress to a healthy lifestyle change for example maintaining a more positive attitude; whenever a negative thought enters your head think about how you can flip this thought and make it positive.
Or what about setting the intention to be kinder to yourself this week? A lot of people put so much pressure on themselves, and yes it’s so fabulous to be the best version of you… BUT don’t judge yourself too hard, don’t get yourself down and compare yourself to others. You are you, a unique individual and you should be proud of who you are. I see so many people being so hard on themselves for the way they look, but you should look in the mirror and be proud, be modest and celebrate what you have been blessed with.
Set a goal this week to attend a class or get to the gym just one more time than you did last week. But again don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t make it that day to the gym because you had to work a little later. Don’t be hard on yourself if you didn’t complete the whole set of reps, or had to stop in the middle of a class to catch your breath. You are there.. it is all about PROGRESS!! Don’t forget – ESPECIALLY if you are new to the fitness world – a few weeks ago you had never got on a bike, or lifted a weight and now look what you are doing, look how far you have come, you are moving and that in itself is a gift.
Find the motivation this week to go that little bit further, to be a little bit extra. Choose to walk to the station instead of driving, choose to get on a bike instead of hoping on the bus, cook your own food this week instead of getting a take away or just set a goal to drink three litres of water a day. All these small changes can be implemented so easily but people just avoid them for some reason. I promise you they make a world of difference to a healthy lifestyle.
And finally set the intention to be happy, to enjoy your life because you are the only person who can control that. We set our paths in life and if you don’t like something or are unhappy then you and you only have the ability to change it. At the end of the day, yes money can buy you a lot of things and you can have all the money in the world but it won’t buy you happiness. So find that one thing that does make you happy, that makes you smile, whether it be going to a class, meditation, eating well, having a cuddle with the kids, with a partner, watching a classic movie, achieving something at work, going on holiday, buying something for yourself etc. Find that something that makes you happy and hold onto it.
So this week, take control, set your intention and be happy because 2018 is nearly over and it’s time to make some changes.
